Dynamic routing protocols across OpenVPN tunnel

Greetings,
My long search to a solution to my dilemma has led me to Vyatta.. I'm trying to figure out how to allow dynamic routing protocols to pass through an openvpn tunnel between two Vyatta boxes.. As far as I can tell, I can't select the vtun0 interface when enabling RIPv2... How do I get this to work?

Thanks in advance,
E

I didn't do it with rip, but with ospf it goes like this.
I have a site-to site tunnel on openvpn with the ip subnet of
172.22.40.0/30 (172.22.40.1 on one side, 172.22.40.2 on the other)
I set up ospf as follows (on both sides)

protocols {
    ospf {
        area 0.0.0.0 {
            network 172.22.40.0/30
        }
}

that is all that was required to get it distributing routes.
