Hello All,
We are building up two router with full BGP Table connected to two different carrier running with two lines at 100mbit/sec.
Our carrier gives us a Ethernet Fiber connection, can someone propose me some hardware that works with Vyatta?
We are going to use HP DL380G6 as servers for the Vyatta software.
Thank you very much

Are you sure they aren't going to put an ONT at your facility? If they are, you can just use a regular copper NIC as there will be an RJ45 jack on it.
Something like this would probably work, if they aren't going to install an ONT:

Also, you could get a couple HP Procurve 1810's and a couple fiber modules. Then do a router on a stick setup across an AD link. It's inexpensive and rock solid.

We are currently using the ethernet network card in our V880 to communicate on the network. However our box also has a fiber network card as well.
We are also using Transition Networks N-FX-LC-02L fibre box. And it still working properly.
Sorry to hijack a thread, I'm stumped & have no replies on the one I posted & I had begun to wonder if Vyatta supports 10Gb at all- until I saw you talking about it here.
I have a couple intel 82598EB cards (SFP+ not FC), and I'm not seeing how to properly set their link speed.
The router's not up yet so I haven't tested to see if it works, I still have unrelated issues to sort.
When I arrived at the part where I configured these, it didn't seem right since they're doing 10000M not 1000M.
Is this what works on your 10Gb interfaces, or does it impose a limitation to 1000M?
ethernet eth4 { bond-group bond0 duplex full smp_affinity auto speed 1000 } ethernet eth5 { duplex full smp_affinity auto speed 1000 } ethernet eth6 { duplex full smp_affinity auto speed 1000 } ethernet eth7 { duplex full smp_affinity auto speed 1000 }Are you using the latest version? In 6.1 I'm seeing:
vyatta@R1# set interfaces ethernet eth3 speed ? Possible completions: auto Auto negotiation (default) 10 10 Mbit/sec 100 100 Mbit/sec 1000 1 Gbit/sec 2500 2.5 Gbit/sec 10000 10 Gbit/secGood news, thanks. It is 6.1.
I wasn't aware of the function that returns possible completions.
The only reference I was aware of were the docs- apparently this page was overlooked when updating prior to publication.
On page 30 of Vyatta_LANInterfacesRef_R6.1_v02.pdf, it only mentions 10, 100, 1000 as possible values.
