I am trying to set up Vyatta for the first time, i am installing on a hyper-v (2008 r2) virtual machine. The problem i have is there doesn't seem to be any connectivity, I have created an eth0 and an eth1 both have ip addresses assigned in different vlans. When i try to ping any (known responding) addresses I get an unreachable response, i also get an unreachable response when i try to ping one of the addresses asigned to the vyatta ethernet interfaces. I haven't put any other config on apart from assigning an ip address to each interface, I would have thought that would be all i need to get basic connectivity, am i missing something?

Sorry, i forgot to update.
When i initally installed it i used the standard installer and had the problem stated. Then i started again and used the virtual machine installer, after I still apparently had the same problem but it turned out i was one digit off when applying the IP addreses.
I suppose that's what happens when you are working late at night.
