Vyatta - Configuration PBRs

Hello,

I'm doing a virtual laboratory to test WAN Optimization. I've installed Vyatta on VMware EXSi 5.0. All my interfaces are virtual.

Now, I'm trying to configure PBR (Policy Basing Routing). I'm receiving the traffic from a virtual WAN emulator and then through Vyatta, I have to send to a virtual appliance which will optimize the traffic.

I have downloaded the Vyatta guide related to policies - http://www.vyatta.com/downloads/documentation/VC6.2/Vyatta_RoutingPoliciesRef_R6.2_v01.pdf and the Cisco guide to configure PBRs - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2/qos/configuration/guide/qcfpbr_ps1835_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

I've configured these commands:

- set policy access-list 100 rule 10 source network 10.10.40.0
- set policy route-map SP rule 10 match ip address access-list 100 set ip-next-hop 10.10.20.2

However, I'm trying to associate the Vyatta interfaces ethernet eth0 with the policy route-map SP and Vyatta hasn't allowed me.

Someone, can help me? How can I apply PBR and associate to one interface?

Thanks for your help,

robert

PBR isn't available yet. It will most likely be in the next release, Pacifica. I have a prototype done, but I want to make a few changes to it before we release it.

Hi Robert,

is this not available on the community free version or also the professional version? Thanks.

It's not available anywhere yet. It will be in Pacifica.

Robert,

This is great news as it's probably the most requested feature by the community :)

You should be announcing this properly, not just in a a forum post. I look farward to reading the updated roadmap page.

I'm still a little confused. If this is not available, why do we see the commands available in the cli? Thanks.

Mark

- set policy access-list 100 rule 10 source network 10.10.40.0
- set policy route-map SP rule 10 match ip address access-list 100 set ip-next-hop 10.10.20.2

The commands you are referring to are for applying route maps to routing protocols, such as BGP.
